Beryllium, represented by the chemical symbol Be and atomic number 4, is a steel-grey, strong, lightweight metal that is both non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant. One of the lightest of all metals, Beryllium is one third lighter than aluminum yet stiffer than steel, making it the metal of choice for certain applications where light weight and rigidity are crucial.
In nature, Beryllium is often found combined with other elements in over 100 different minerals, the most notable of which is beryl and bertrandite. The extraction process involves a series of chemical reactions to ultimately produce high-purity Beryllium metal or Beryllium-aluminum alloy.
At TXRocks, we’re proud to supply a wide variety of critical minerals integral to the advancement of numerous industries. Among these, Beryllium is a standout – a lightweight metal with a suite of impressive properties that make it indispensable in a range of applications, from telecommunications to aerospace.
