Helium

Helium, represented by the chemical symbol He and atomic number 2, is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, inert, monatomic gas that heads the noble gas series in the periodic table. It’s the second lightest and second most abundant element in the observable universe, but it is relatively rare on Earth.

Helium doesn’t react with any other elements and remains as individual atoms, and it’s these properties that make it so useful in a variety of applications.

At TXRocks, we proudly offer a broad spectrum of critical minerals that fuel innovation and progress across industries worldwide. Helium, a unique and critical element, is known for its lighter-than-air characteristic and finds widespread applications from medicine to space exploration.

Critical Usecases

Coolant for MRI Scanners

Due to its low boiling point, helium is used as a coolant in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners and other scientific equipment.

Lifting Gas

As helium is lighter than air, it is often used as a lifting gas in balloons and airships.

Leak Detection

Due to its small atomic size, helium is used in leak detection for high-vacuum equipment and high-pressure containers.

Breathing Mixtures

Helium is used in breathing mixtures for deep-sea diving or extravehicular activity by astronauts.

Fiber Optics and Semiconductor Manufacturing

In its liquid form, helium is used in the production of fiber optics and semiconductors due to its cooling properties.
